2012 Homecoming & Alumni Reunion Weekend

Notre Dame College celebrated homecoming and alumni reunion weekend from Oct. 1 to 7. From a pep rally to a clambake to the homecoming football game, students, alumni and friends of the College had a blast at a variety of events.

2012 Notre Dame College Medal Dinner

Notre Dame College awarded its highest honor, the 2012 Notre Dame College Medal, to Beth E. Mooney, the chairman, chief executive officer and president of KeyCorp, at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven on Friday, June 8.

90th Anniversary Opening Celebration

On March 26, 1922, Mother Mary Cecilia Romen, the Mother General of the Sisters of Notre Dame, wrote a letter to Cleveland Bishop Joseph Schrembs asking for permission to open a college for women. Ninety years to the day of Mother Mary Cecilia sending that letter, Notre Dame College began a year-long celebration of the College’s past, present and future in the Regina Auditorium.

90 Years of Excellence in Education

Notre Dame College, a Catholic institution in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame, educates a diverse population in the liberal arts for personal, professional and global responsibility.

The Sisters of Notre Dame founded Notre Dame College in 1922 as a Catholic, four-year liberal arts institution for women. Over the years, Notre Dame always embraced the challenge of adapting to the changing needs of its students and has seen many changes.

In 2001, NDC admitted men paving the way for continuous growth of the College through the addition of both new programs and athletics. Since then, enrollment has risen to a record high of almost 2,200 students.
