Professor Named Best College Advisor

Notre Dame College would like to congratulate Associate Professor of Business Administration Natalie Strouse, who was named “Best College Advisor” by the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education. Strouse received the recognition during NOCHE’s 2012 Expys Awards at the Doubletree Hotel Cleveland on March 28.

The Expys Best Internships Awards celebrate and recognize internship programs in Northeast Ohio and the people who make them work. Strouse had been nominated by a Notre Dame student and was one of five finalists in her category, and one of 35 overall finalists from almost 200 nominees.

The criteria for her award included how the advisor guides students to internships, listens and provides feedback, assists in intern development, embraces a relationship with an organization, or acts in the best interests of all parties involved.

Strouse has been a fulltime faculty member at Notre Dame College since 2001. A certified public accountant with an M.B.A. from Cleveland State University, Strouse has over 20 years of experience in business. She has worked for both a large public company and a smaller private firm and has had responsibility for all phases of financial management. She taught accounting as an adjunct faculty member at several institutions before accepting a fulltime position at NDC.

In 2006, Strouse became the first Notre Dame faculty member in nearly 40 years to be named a Fulbright Scholar. She spent six months in the Ukraine as a guest lecturer at the Ternopil Academy of National Economy.

Founded in 1951, NOCHE's mission is to mobilize the higher education and business communities for collective action that advances region economic development. NOCHE aims to increase college attainment in the region and is connecting employers with college students through its internship program, NEOintern.
