Notre Dame College Athletic Director Sue Hlavacek has been named the 2009-10 NAIA Northeast Region Athletic Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), and has also earned the Administrator of the Year Award from the National Association of Collegiate Women’s Athletic Administrators (NACWAA). 

Service is an essential part of Notre Dame College's mission and students are encouraged to live that mission as soon as they step onto campus. On Saturday, Aug. 28, all first-year students at NDC will therefore participate in a community food collection benefitting the Heights Emergency Food Center.

Notre Dame Associate Professor of Art Rachel Morris will travel to Israel in July to attend a three-week seminar on the Holocaust at Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem, the most comprehensive center of Holocaust commemoration in the world.

The Notre Dame College Athletic Department will host the Ninth Annual Falcon Golf Classic (brochure) on Monday, July 19, at StoneWater Golf Course in Highland Heights, Ohio. This scramble raises money to benefit the growing needs of student – athletes. The Falcon Golf Classic invites alumni, family and friends of the Notre Dame community to enjoy this day of fun. A $175 player donation (of which a portion is tax deductible) includes 18 holes of golf, cart, continental breakfast, a buffet luncheon, and additional prizes.

STAND! The first season of Summer Theatre At Notre Dame presenting the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival and “The Fantasticks” will kick off on the front steps of the College’s Administration Building on Friday, June 18.  

Notre Dame College’s Clara Fritzsche Library will collaborate with the Beachwood Branch of the Cuyahoga County Library and the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library in sponsoring a book discussion of “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide.” The discussion group will be held at the Beachwood Public Library on June 21, in conjunction with the

Notre Dame College’s Clara Fritzsche Library will host “In Bloom at Notre Dame,” an exhibit of floral paintings in oil and acrylic by Cleveland artist Maureen Lanza, from June 24 through Aug. 6. 

Notre Dame College Associate Professor of Communication, English, and Theatre, Tony Zupancic, was selected to participate in the annual Reading and scoring of the College Board’s Advanced Placement Examinations in English literature this June.
