NDC Extends Partnership with ESPN Cleveland

Notre Dame College and ESPN Cleveland have extended their partnership to air NDC football games and other Falcon athletic programming for the next three years.

The multilevel partnership includes the broadcast of all 11 Falcon football games this fall, which mark the program's first season as a fully fledged NCAA-II program. The Falcons will open their season at home against Mercyhurst (Pa.) on Thursday, Aug. 30 (7 p.m.). That game and all others in the 2012 season will be streamed live on ESPNCleveland.com. Several games will also air on ESPN 1540 KNR2.

The partnership also includes a weekly radio show -- Falcon Football Weekly -- which will air on KNR2 on Thursdays at 1 p.m. during the NDC football season. That program will be rebroadcast on ESPN 850 WKNR on Saturday mornings. The partnership between Notre Dame and ESPN Cleveland also includes a number of live remote broadcasts form NDC's South Euclid, Ohio, campus throughout the year.

“I am very pleased that we've continued our partnership with ESPN Cleveland,” NDC Director of Athletics Scott Swain said. “This partnership has been very beneficial for both parties in the past and with this new three-year agreement it will only be better. This partnership displays just how bright the future of Falcon athletics is. This agreement, along with the NCAA's decision to grant us full Division II membership and being a founding member of the Mountain East Conference beginning in 2013, clearly illustrates that.”

Notre Dame Assistant Director of Athletic Communications Andy Barch will again serve as the lead play-by-play announcer for Notre Dame football games, and ESPN 1540 KNR2 will serve as the flagship station in the Falcon Football Radio Network. The weekly broadcast schedule, with a list of outlets, will be published on NotreDameFalcons.com.

“ESPN Cleveland has been a true partner with Notre Dame College for over eight years," NDC Vice President for Development Dave Armstrong said. "I can honestly say that they have been one of our most effective tools in our efforts to grow from the smallest private college in Ohio in 2003 to one of the fastest growing colleges in the country today. Solidifying this relationship for the next three years demonstrates our commitment to our student-athletes, that they will be promoted in the most professional manner possible at NDC.”

ESPN Cleveland GM Keith Williams added, “Notre Dame College is a Cleveland success story, and we are proud to continue our partnership with NDC through 2015. Our sports marketing partnership with Notre Dame College exemplifies the type of multi-media promotions we like to do, and NDC's success is our greatest compliment. We are glad that ESPN Cleveland and Notre Dame College will continue to have the chance to grow together.”
