Notre Dame Appoints New Trustees

Notre Dame College’s Board of Trustees has appointed seven new members who bring a wealth of experience in the financial, IT, legal, development and media industries to College Road.

The new board members are:

  • Mark Brandt, business development director at McGladrey & Pullen;
  • Brian Brennan, division head for income trading and sales at KeyBank Capital Markets;
  • Dan Clark, CEO of United Nations Insurance Agency;
  • Melissa Garrett, senior VP and director of information management at Key Bank;
  • Geoff Ritts, partner at Jones Day;
  • Chris Ronayne, president of University Circle Inc.;
  • and Brooke Spectorsky, president and general manager of WKYC-TV.

Notre Dame is proud to have such distinguished individuals serve on our board of trustees,” said Dr. Andrew P. Roth, president of Notre Dame College. “Their expertise will guide the College as it continues its journey to become one of the finest, small, Catholic colleges in the Great Lakes region.”

Brooke Spectorsky has served as president and general manager of WKYC-TV since October 1997. In July 2005, he was also named senior vice president for Gannett Broadcasting.

As the seventh president of University Circle Inc., the area’s non-profit development, service and advocacy organization, Chris Ronayne has raised more than $30 million for community initiatives over the past five years.

At Jones Day, Geoff Ritts defends corporations, officers and directors in securities, shareholder and derivative litigation in federal and state courts across the United States. He regularly defends corporations in ERISA litigation, contract and M&A disputes, as well as banking and accounting-related litigation.

Notre Dame alumna Melissa Garrett directs the formulation and governance of data quality standards at KeyCorp’s Community Bank, which includes commercial, business and community banking as well as wealth segments. She also oversees business intelligence, customer relationship information management, and application development for management reporting, sales performance and business analytics.

Dan Clark has served as CEO of United Nations Insurance Agency for 11 years. He previously served as senior vice president at Evergreen National Indemnity, a diversity specialty lines and surety company.

Since 2008, Brian Brennan is Key Bank Capital Markets’ managing director and division head for the Fixed Income and Corporate Investment Service Group, which is located in Cleveland, Charlotte, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, New York City, San Francisco and Seattle. The division focuses on the distribution and trading of taxable and tax-exempt securities and includes more than 100 professionals.

At McGladrey & Pullen Certified Public Accountants, Mark Brandt is the business development director for the audit, tax and business consulting practice in Ohio. He has more than 20 years of experience working with professional service, investment management and private equity firms, as well as manufacturing companies and start-ups.
