Notre Dame College Police Department Joins Students During Walk to School Week

The Notre Dame College Police Department will accompany Greenview Upper Elementary School students on their walk to school May 22 as part of Walk to School Week at South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools.

The event is one of several this spring tied to the district’s Safe Routes to School grant initiative, which provides $400,000 for safer walking and biking routes to school.

“Our department is excited to be a part of this event,” said Notre Dame College Police Chief Jeff Scott. “Walking and biking to school are excellent ways for kids to stay active and healthy, but it’s important that they know how to do it safely. Walk to School Week is a great opportunity for parents, school administrators and local police to come together to encourage and educate students – especially now that warmer weather is encouraging all of us to get outside more often.”

Parents, students and staff will meet at Notre Dame College at 8:30 a.m. to walk students to Greenview for the start of the school day. Transportation will be provided back to Notre Dame for parents who choose to park at the College.
