On Thanksgiving morning, while most of us are sipping our first cup of coffee in our warm homes, 50 guys in Medina will be gathering in Mike and Connie Meadows backyard at 3075 Hood Road preparing for an 8 a.m. kickoff in what has become a long-standing holiday tradition. The Highland High School Marching Band will be present, as will an assortment of players’ children and wives as the 22nd annual Meadows Turkey Bowl begins.

A shared interest has brought eight unique individuals to Notre Dame. They are a select group that represents a milestone at the College. They are the inaugural students in NDC’s Graduate Program in Security Policy Studies (SPS), the College’s newest graduate program, which officially launched on Thursday, Aug. 18.

Notre Dame’s Future Educators Club is hosting an evening of musical lecture with Carol J. Spears, a certified Reiki master, teacher and music practitioner, in the College’s Great Room at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Notre Dame College’s Clara Fritzsche Library will host “Magia dell’acqua: Marvels by the Water,” a showing of photographs by Marcello Mellino, from Sept. 15 to Oct. 29. The exhibit will open with a reception on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m.

More than 60 ROTC cadets from Notre Dame College, John Carroll University, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University and Hiram College will be air-transported via Black Hawk helicopters from the NDC campus to field training exercises in Ravenna, Ohio, on Friday, Oct. 21.

Notre Dame College’s Academic Support Center will host a presentation by Dr. Jay Berk, a licensed psychologist and expert in working with children, adolescents and families, for its 2011 North Eastern Ohio Education Association Day on Friday, Oct. 14.

The streets of Cleveland’s Little Italy will be filled with music by Notre Dame College’s marching band this Monday, Oct. 10, when it participates in the 59th annual Columbus Day Parade.

Notre Dame College, in collaboration with the City of South Euclid, Velocity Church and South Euclid-Hillcrest United Methodist Church, will host a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony in the College’s Regina Auditorium at 5 p.m. on Sept. 11.

Notre Dame College has been recognized by the Quality Matters Program as one of only 17 higher education institutions nationwide who meet QM’s high standards for the design of online courses.
