Faculty, staff, students and the general public are invited to attend a brief ceremony commemorating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the City of South Euclid at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct 13, on the Campus Commons.

The College will inter a 50-year time capsule on the south side of Quinlivan Circle at the event hosted by the city and the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Historical Society. Among items to be included in the time capsule is the paperback "Intersections at Mayfield and Green: Stories of South Euclid's First Century," written by nearly 20 Notre Dame current and former students, edited by Sr. Eileen Quinlan, SND, Ph.D., and with illustrations by Sr. Megan Dull, SND, M.F.A.

Other items placed in the time capsule will be notes from elementary school children, family photos and notes from residents, a message from Mayor Georgine Welo, three South Euclid historical books and more.

The College has a time capsule waiting to be opened on its 100th anniversary in 2022. It is a royal blue footlocker, created on the 75th anniversary of the College in 1997. It was filled with letters, photos and mementos from alumni, students, faculty and staff.
