The Notre Dame College Men’s Rugby team won the East Division Championship in its inaugural season in the National Small College Rugby Organization Great Lakes Conference. The Falcons will now host the regional championships on Oct. 27 and 28.

"Putnam County Spelling Bee"

Get out your dictionaries! The Tony Award-winning musical comedy, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” – one of Broadway's most buzzed about hits – is in attendance at Notre Dame College's Theatre Department on Nov. 9, 10 and 11.


Notre Dame College will offer a two-credit class next semester that will include a unique international travel and learning experience. The BU 392 International Immersion course will take up to 10 students to the developing country of Nicaragua.

Homecoming 2012

Notre Dame College is gearing up for its annual homecoming and alumni reunion weekend, and this year’s festivities from Oct. 5 to 7 promise to be especially meaningful as NDC currently celebrates its 90th anniversary.

M. Joan McCarthy

Notre Dame College awarded one of its highest honors, the 2012 Fidelia Award, to trustee M. Joan McCarthy. In recognition of her service to Notre Dame, McCarthy received the award during a dinner in the College’s Great Room on Sept. 20.

St. Basil's Cathedral

Notre Dame College’s Center for Pastoral Theology and Ministry will present the 28th annual Eleanor Malburg Eastern Churches Seminar, titled “Sacred Space: Speaking to the Heart,” on Oct. 12 and 13. The seminar will reflect on churches as sacred spaces.


The past few months were a busy time in Notre Dame’s Admissions Office. The admissions staff sifted through more than 4,300 undergraduate applications by students interested in joining NDC this fall. In the end, 503 of them made the cut.

Salvatore Caroniti

Notre Dame College nursing student Salvatore Caroniti has been honored by the Cleveland Clinic with the institution’s annual Caregiver Honors Award. Caroniti was one of two employees to earn the award for delivering outstanding care and service.

Falcon Athletics

Notre Dame will join 11 universities and colleges in West Virginia, Ohio and Virginia in the formation of a new all-sports collegiate athletic conference to be named the Mountain East Conference. The MEC intends to begin competition in 2013-14.

Chris Via (right)

Notre Dame junior Chris Via recently returned from Bangkok, Thailand, with gold and silver medals. The Falcon bowler won the World Tenpin Bowling Association World Youth Championships with Junior Team USA and came in second individually.
