Notre Dame Vice President Shares Expertise on "Emerging Adulthood" on National Public Radio

Dr. Nicholas Santilli, Notre Dame College Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, was recently a featured speaker on “Off Topic,” a program produced by National Public Radio Colorado College 91.5 FM KRCC.

As part of a story about the changing nature of childhood,  Dr. Santilli addressed the changing nature of the life stages of adolescence and young adulthood with a new life stage “emerging adulthood” bursting on the scene capturing the age-span between 18-25.

Emerging adulthood is a product of social and economic changes that are lengthening the transition to adulthood.  The characteristics of emerging adulthood, why it may be a significant life stage, and how emerging adulthood changes our conception of life in the 21st century are discussed.
