About Rick Lavoie

Rick Lavoie is best known for his engaging PBS video, “How Difficult Can This Be? The F.A.T. City Workshop.” He has delivered his message to over half a million people world wide and appeared on Good Morning America, CBS MorningShow, ABC Evening News, and Disney Channel Presents.

This is Rick Lavoie’s only Northeast Ohio appearance in 2006!

The Seminar

Students with dyslexia and learning differences are often accused of being “lazy” and “unmotivated.” Recent research indicates that even if the LD students are able to master the standard curriculum, their success is negatively affected if they
have not mastered the “hidden curriculum.”

This workshop will present strategies to help education professionals identify social mores in the academic world and teach these concepts to the LD student.
Furthermore, the educator or parent will learn techniques that can modify and monitor the behavior of a student with learning differences. Rick Lavoie will discuss specific strategies to foster motivation and success in your child/student and much more.
