New Adult Student Orientation

The information below will serve as a brief orientation to the College. This page will cover all the major departments and services you have access to as a new student. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Adult and Graduate Admissions at 216-373-5173.

Room Assignments (for classes held face-to-face on campus)
Room Assignments will be posted on the 1st floor of the Main Administration Building on the first day of class. Please come a few minutes early on your first day. All classes are held in the Main Administration Building or in the Library.

Financial Aid

  • Begin the process of applying for Financial Aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • Apply for the current school year (2009-2010).
  • Notre Dame College’s school code is 003085.
  • Once you have been admitted to the College and have completed your FAFSA, you will receive a financial aid award letter. Before financial aid will be posted to your account, you must follow the directions on your award letter to complete both the Master Promissary Note and the Entrance Loan Counseling. This information can be found on the financial aid website listed above.

Student Accounts

  • Current tuition rates are posted on the above website.
  • Tuition is due in full before the first day of class.
  • Payment arrangements must be made before classes begin.
  • Pending financial aid is NOT considered an acceptable arrangement.
  • Online payments can be made through the CASHNet system.
  • Payment plans are available in the Fall and Spring. **Please note there is no payment plan option in the summer. Again, tuition is due in full before the first day of classes.
  • Our refund policy is as follows:
8 WEEK TERM
Before the 1st class meeting 100%
During the 2nd class meeting 70%
After the 2nd class meeting 0%

Registrar’s Office

  • The Registrar’s Office houses student records, processes registrations, and is responsible for all transcript requests.
  • If you have a question about any information listed on your transcript or need to request a copy, please contact this office.
  • We maintain the privacy of our students in accordance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).

Learning Center

  • The Learning Center provides tutoring and study skills help to all students free of charge.
  • Faculty, graduate assistants and peer tutors are available to review papers, participate in study groups, and provide other academic assistance.
  • Hours for the Learning Center change each semester. Please check the website listed above for the most current schedule.

  • The Career Service Center provides a variety of services for all students that include mock interviewing, resume review, and career guidance.
  • Check the above website often to read the latest newsletter, tips, or to find out about upcoming events and opportunities.
  • Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Visit our virtual bookstore above to search the wide variety and selection of new and used books.
  • Search by course to find out what books you need for your upcoming classes.
  • Books should be ordered as soon as possible so that you receive them before your classes begin.

Student ID (required for students taking face-to-face classes on campus ONLY)

  • If you are taking classes on campus or plan to utilize any on campus service, you should obtain a student ID.
  • If you are taking all online classes and do not plan on coming to campus, you do not need to obtain an ID.
  • IDs can be obtained by contacting the Admissions Office at 216-373-5355 to make an appointment or by stopping in during normal business hours. You will need to have a driver’s license or other picture identification along with a copy of your current course schedule showing that you are currently enrolled in classes.
  • You should always keep your student ID with you when you are on campus for security purposes.
