A Message from Legacy Committee Member Anne Meissner
Greetings from Notre Dame College President Dr. Andrew P. Roth
Stay tuned! More videos will be coming soon!
Welcome, Great Women of '65!
It is now time to begin planning our 50th anniversary reunion in 2015! A small group of us have been meeting since last fall to start the ball rolling. We will use this web page and a blog to develop our celebration festivities. Your ideas are most welcome.
One major decision that the committee already made is how to make a lasting gift in memory of our class. We met with representatives of the College and determined that an endowed fund was a worthwhile goal. A substantial fund will generate interest to provide for an annual award to a Notre Dame student. Our fund will be called The Great Women of '65 Endowment Fund. We hope that our class members will continue to have a positive and enduring influence on the Great Women of tomorrow through contributions to this fund. Our goal is to raise $50,000 by the time we celebrate our 50th anniversary!
Candidates for the Award
The committee felt it was important that our award be given to an upper-class female student of high academic standing, committed to graduating from Notre Dame College. The College's Financial Aid Office will select the award recipient each year.
Our first scholarship award will be made in Academic Year 2015-2016. We will present the scholarship to the recipient during the Class of 1965’s anniversary reunion.
How to Contribute to the Fund
Gifts may be made in a variety of ways:
A one-time gift that can be in the form of cash, credit card, or stock transfer.
A gift over a period of years. The College can accommodate your personal situation and establish pledge payments that may be made monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, or annually.
A gift through your IRA or estate. Recent changes in tax laws, particularly regarding changes to IRA distributions, may provide an ideal time for you to fulfill your personal financial planning goals while also serving to provide a lasting legacy to future generations of students at Notre Dame College.
Contributions may be sent to:

About Notre Dame College Endowment Funds
The Great Women of ‘65 Endowment Fund will be part of the overall Notre Dame College Endowment. The Notre Dame College Endowment contains funds that are invested for the long term. Unlike current-use gifts, which are spent completely for immediate needs, endowed funds are invested and the college may spend only a small portion of the income on those investments each year. The principal value of these funds is restricted in perpetuity and may not be spent except as provided herein, unless the donor consents in writing after the fund is established. Distributions of income and realized gains from the fund shall be used to encourage students who have demonstrated the capacity to achieve educational and professional goals, the motivation to achieve these goals, and the initiative to seek opportunities to further their progress.
2015 50th Reunion Planning!
We hope you are as excited as we are about a memorable reunion and our legacy scholarship for future Notre Dame College women. As noted above, we'll be using a blog to dialogue with each other. Bookmark NotreDameCollege.edu/Alumni/Blog. Check for updates, give feedback, and contribute ideas for reunion planning. We'd love to hear from you!
