Update Financial and Other Information through MyNDC Parent Portal

The Office of Student Accounts is in the process of upgrading its accounts receivable information system. The office anticipates minimal disruption to customers during this upgrade. However, the transition to the new system may impact how account information is displayed in the MyNDC Parent Portal.  Detailed instructions on accessing balance and account information will be available on MyNDC in mid-December.

Payment Deadlines & Payment Plans

Notre Dame College policy is that tuition and fees are to be paid in full or a student must be enrolled in a payment plan by January 2, 2015, for the spring semester. The College payment plan consists of five payments beginning January 2 and ending May 1 for spring 2015. The balance owed will be in the College CASHNet and automatically updated if adjustments are needed.

Students can enroll in a payment plan, view account balances and make payments through MyNDC and the CashNet system. If you have any questions regarding payment or payment plans, contact the Office of Student Services at 216.373.5213.

Residence Life

Prepare Your Student to Leave and Return to Campus Housing

It’s hard to believe that the fall 2014 semester is about to come to an end! As we begin the last quarter of the semester, Residence Life would like to share the Thanksgiving and winter break checkout policies.

For Thanksgiving break, the residence halls close at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25. Before leaving for break, all residents must complete the closing check-list, which will be on the doors of each room before Monday, November 24. Once the checklist is complete, residents can slide the paper under the door of their RA. Residents who have class past 7:30 p.m. and will not be out by the deadline must email housing@ndc.edu.

RAs will conduct room checks of all rooms on the floor before they leave for break and complete the appropriate paperwork. Additionally, residents who need to stay over the break must email housing@ndc.edu to be considered for approval. It is a $10/daycharge to stay during break. In-season athletes will be permitted to stay at no cost as long as they are on the active roster that Residence Life receives from athletics.

The dining hall will be closed during break. No one may return to campus prior to noon on Sunday, November 30, and classes will resume on Monday, December 1. The dining hall will be open at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

During finals week, there are 24-hour quiet hours in all residence halls starting on Friday, December 5, at 11:59 p.m. so all residents can have plenty of preparation for their finals.

Residents are required to leave the residence halls 24 hours after their last final, with the residence halls closing on Thursday, December 11, at 7:30 p.m. The closing procedure is the same as Thanksgiving Break. The only difference is that personal refrigerators need to be defrosted and unplugged. Halls re-open at noon on Saturday, January 10, and will not be open before that time.

If your student is not returning to Notre Dame for the spring 2015 semester, they must contact Tera Johnson, the director of residence life. Please be mindful that current residents have a signed housing agreement on file and a termination fee will be assessed if the student is not returning.

Textbook BuybackTextbook Buyback

Sell Textbooks and Return Rentals during Final Exam Week

Wednesday, December 10 & Thursday, December 11

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Administration Building - Ground Floor

Textbook Buyback Information

The best time to sell your textbooks back is at the end of each semester. When you sell back your books during final exam week, you are guaranteed to get the best price offered.By offering students the opportunity to sell their books back, this puts cash in their pockets and makes it possible for the NDC Virtual Bookstore to offer textbooks at a lower price to other students.

Factors that affect the buyback price offered for textbooks:

  1. The textbook is (or is not) being used next term – the textbook has a higher value if it is being reused by the bookstore the following semester
  2. The condition of the textbook – you may get a lower price (or nothing) if your book is in poor condition
  3. The store’s stock-level for the textbook – you get less if the bookstore is already fully stocked
  4. The demand for the textbook – higher demand equals higher dollars
  5. Textbook bundles – if your book came with a CD or other component, make sure you sell it back with all of the components
  6. The edition number – if a new edition is pending for your textbook, the textbook may have no value

Rental Return Information

The best time to return rental textbooks is at the end of each semester during final exam week. Rental textbooks must be returned by the due date and in good condition and then there is no other cost. Failure to return by the due date or if a rental is returned in an unusable condition, the student is then responsible for the replacement cost.  If students miss the opportunity to return rental textbooks during final exam week, visit the NDC Virtual Bookstore for details.
