Service Opportunities

The mission of Notre Dame College is to educate a diverse population in the liberal arts for personal, professional, and global responsibility. Campus Ministry invites students, faculty, and staff to live out the mission through service opportunities on campus, in the community, and across the globe.

Fill out the Service Interest Form if you would like to get involved in the community, or email Anita (ayoder@ndc.edu).

Light of Hearts Villa

Join us in visiting our elderly friends at the Light of Hearts Villa in Bedford. We go every other Monday evening for a couple of hours to assist with bingo, bowling, and other activities. The residents love having our company!

Kidz Club

Just down the road from Notre Dame, Garfield Memorial Church has started a Kidz Club that provides a positive environment for kids every Wednesday after school. Kids come to play basketball, work on their homework, and be mentored by volunteers. We need your help every Wednesday from 3-5 PM. This year the church is starting a mentoring program on Tuesdays, also from 3-5 PM. Students who are interested in being consistent mentors should talk to Anita.

South Euclid Library Tutoring

We are forming a partnership with the new South Euclid library that is right across the street from campus. They need our help in providing tutoring for grade school students in reading, math, and science. The library provides this service from 4:00-6:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. Volunteers can choose their own regular days and hours.

Local Hunger Relief

We periodically serve at nearby food pantries, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters. Parnterships include Our Community Hunger Center, West Side Catholic Center, the Kosher Food Bank, Cleveland Catholic Worker, and the Heights Emergency Food Center. Stay tuned to the weekly Campus Minstry newsletter for upcoming trips to these sites and more!
