The Notre Dame Indoor Colorguard was formed in 2010 as a result of the efforts of the Notre Dame College Marching Band in conjunction with the Colorguard staff, leadership, and students. As the Notre Dame College Marching Band continued the development of its style and technique throughout the fall of 2010, the decision was made to offer an enrichment opportunity within the colorguard idiom for the winter season. The application of a Winter Colorguard was a natural outgrowth of the innovation and attention to detail that was developed throughout the band program throughout the second year of its existence.
