How to prepare?

  • Check the downloads page for audition packets. Practice and be prepared to work! The single best asset you can bring though, is a positive attitude. Be ready to learn and grow as a performer!

What Should I Bring? All individuals attending the audition should bring:

  • Audition related material from the Download page in a three-ring binder
  • Sticks
  • Pads

What Should I Expect? The audition is an educational experience. However, the audition is designed to help you as a performer while helping us to make a decision for our ensemble. Don’t worry if you’re not 100% proficient at everything…we will help you in the process.

What happens after the audition? The staff will decide the best configuration for the indoor percussion ensemble. You will receive an evaluation on the final day of the audition, as well as engage in informal conversations throughout the workshop/audition experience. It is a good idea to identify possible secondary or tertiary performance interests to help us find a place for you in the ensemble.

What if I have Questions before the audition? Contact Director of Performing Arts Bill Neater at bneater@ndc.edu and he will route the question appropriately.
