Accepting Students for Fall 2017

           

 

As part of our dedication to Arts Education, Performing Arts Scholarships are available thanks to the generosity of generous donors. This is a remarkable opportunity that NDC offers students, regardless of their academic interests or athletic involvement.

No audition required for students wanting to perform in a music or theatre ensemble. Placements occur during the first week of class.

Auditions are required only for students enrolling in the Performing Arts Minor (music or theatre) 

Instrumental Scholarship Process: 
Bring your instrument if you have one.
-Simple instrumental exercises.
-Simple sight-reading exercise.2-3 minutes of a prepared piece.
-Interview with director for colorguard/twirler students.

Vocal Scholarship Process:
-Simple vocal exercises.
-Simple sight-reading exercise. 

Theatre Scholarship Process: 
A monologue can be provided if needed.
-Simple monologue reading for acting students.
-Interview with director for technical theatre students.

VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

If you cannot come to campus for an in-person visit, but want to be considered for a Performing Arts Scholarship, you may send a 1-2 minute video of you singing/playing/acting to PerformingArts@ndc.edu

You can send video files from a camera or smartphone, or a YouTube link.

*Incoming students take Intro to Musicianship (MU-103) during their first semester, giving them the opportunity to be better equipped for performing ensembles. Intro to Musicianship, along with choir/band/theatre, is for credit and counts towards the student’s degree requirements.
