Sami George – Ombudsman and Spirit Coordinator

Sami George

Sami George came to Notre Dame College in 2010 in dual capacity as an admissions counselor and head cheerleading coach. Due to the tremendous growth of the cheerleading program and the creation of a dance team, Sami has since been named Spirit Coordinator, a position that oversees all areas of the cheer, dance, and mascot programs.  Additionally, Sami now works in the division of Student Affairs and serves as NDC’s Student Ombudsman.

Prior to joining NDC, George was the head cheerleading coach at Baldwin-Wallace College for three years after serving as assistant coach for one year. George graduated Baldwin-Wallace with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting and Mass Communications in 2005. She played softball at BW and was the captain of the cheerleading squad.  

George is a graduate of Garfield Heights High School where she cheered, competed with Jammer’s All Stars, performed on the high school dance team, and was a four-year letterman for softball. George is certified by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches & Administrators (AACCA). She lives in Macedonia with her husband Joe and their daughter, Olivia.

"The past five years at Notre Dame have been incredibly rewarding," George says. "The tremendous growth of the cheerleading squad and the creation of a dance team is testament to the hard work and dedication of both our students and staff. As Spirit Coordinator I am excited to continue making cheerleading and dance an integral part of our vibrant campus life."


Mandy Means - Head Dance Team Coach

Mandy MeansMandy is also a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Master of Education in Leadership in Higher Education.  She was a captain under the coaching of Sami George.  She also serves as an Assistant Director of Admissions at Notre Dame College.

Means, who is AACCA certified, is a graduate of Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School where she was a three-year varsity letter-winner in cheerleading as well as captain of the varsity squad.  She was also captain of the Honeybees Dance Team.

"It is a special pleasure to work alongside Sami, who has been a wonderful role model in my life.  Notre Dame College offers a tradition and school spirit unlike any other institution in the area.  It is an especially exciting time to be a student at NDC because of its growing enrollment and addition of many academic and co-curricular programs!" says Means.




Laura Beavers – Head Cheerleading Coach

Laura Beavers

Laura Beavers is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, and an Associate of Science in Chemistry. She cheered on the Co-Ed squad at BGSU for four years where she was given the opportunity to compete down at UCA College Nationals. Laura joined the Notre Dame Spirit Program as Head Coach of the cheerleading squad in 2016.

Laura is AACCA certified, a Head Instructor for Universal Cheerleaders Association, and is a current member of the Mid-West UCA Staff. She is a graduate of Mentor High School and cheered on both their football and competition cheerleading squad where she advanced to the captain position, as was selected to be an All-American.

“It is an exciting time to be a Falcon and to work with such talented athletes,” Laura says. “Notre Dame College is a close knit community that allows all of our students to form lifelong memories and friendships.”





Santana Bonifant – Assistant Dance Team CoachSantana Bonifant

Santana is a graduate of Notre Dame College with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Media Writing. She was a captain of the NDC dance team under the coaching of Amanda Means. She also serves as the Assistant Manager of the Falcon Café at Notre Dame College.

Bonifant , is a graduate of Strasburg Franklin High School where she was a Four-year varsity letter-winner in cheerleading as well as captain of the varsity squad.

“It is an honor to work with Coach Means and Coach George. They are truly amazing, sophisticated women who have made a dream of mine come true. Three years ago I had the proposal of starting a dance team here at Notre Dame College and in 2013 they made that dream a reality. Notre Dame College is the perfect fit for someone who is looking to better themselves not only in life but also in their education/career path. Everyone here is always so helpful and open to the growth of new ideas. I love the atmosphere our campus provides for sporting events. The Spirit Program is a big reason as to why it’s so action packed and exciting.”
